A 'green energy' home in New Hampshire which has photo voltaic cells on the roof (producing electricty from the sun) and thermal solar heaters near the ground (heating hot water). The thermal solar heaters are of the 'evacuated tube solar collector' type, which absorb solar radiation and convert it into heat. The heated pipes conduct the heat from the solar tubes up to the 'header'. Water is slowly circulated through the header, by way of intermittent pump cycling, and each time the water circulates through the temperature is raised about 9-18 degrees F. Throughout the day the water in the storage tank is gradually heated.
