Boxtel - Netherlands - In Boxtel you can become a shared owner of a farm. In 2016, a food cooperative was set up to produce sustainable, healthy and tasty food for its members. Every week, members can buy a crate of food on the estate that is about 20 hectares in size. The farm in Boxtel is a sustainable operating, small-scale cooperative company with its own farmer in service. De farmer puts his knowledge and experience to work on the land and to take care of the animals. As a member you can work on the farm, but that is not obligatory. The cooperative can provide up to 500 'mouths' of their own food. Once a year there is a members' meeting in which members can decide on the operation, livestock farming, the annual cultivation plan and other activities. In total there is room for a maximum of 200 members. The cooperative currently counts 160 men's farmers/members. Therefore there are regular guided tours to explain the concept to interested parties. As a member, you are also the buyer, investor producer and consumer of the products that the farm produces. The Netherlands has the ambition to make the development of dozens of farms possible until 2026 in the Netherlands. The idea enjoys an interest from the Netherlands and abroad.
