Edmund Delle, dermatologist and founder of Rabito Clinic, at his clinic in Accra on July 2, 2018 holds a picture of a woman with Exogenous Ochronosis, a cutaneous disorder due to a long-term application of hydroquinone skin-lightening beauty products. - Africa is experiencing a massive trend of skin bleaching, also called lightening or whitening, particularly in teenagers and young adults. The widening phenomenon is laden with health risks. Every day around 20 patients with skin disorders, because of the long-term use of skin-whitening products, are treated in Rabito Clinic. Edmund Delle is one of the main voices in Ghana against skin-bleaching practise and has helped the government to put in place a national ban of hydroquinone on beauty products.
