FASCINATING FOOTAGE from the Vietnam War showing several different wounded soldiers being treated and carried to safety by their comrades in the field has resurfaced this week, ahead of the 45th anniversary (March 29) of the last American ground forces leaving Vietnam for the final time. Clips from the film, produced by the United States military as a training source for new recruits, show U.S. bombers dropping several bombs on a section of jungle where American forces have been penned in by the Viet Cong, with another short clip showing a soldier firing a machine gun into the jungle towards possible combatants. The main body of the film shows the efforts of ground troops to safely evacuate their wounded colleagues, with two groups of men carrying a stretcher towards a helicopter before watching it take off and head towards a hospital ship, where the men are treated. The film ends by showing a small group of soldiers praying for their colleague???s safe return / mediadrumworld.com
