Set in the rocky landscape of Provence between Bonnieux and Lacoste, dotted with cherry, olive and vines, this is the owner's second 18C home in the area. She first moved from London in the mid-90's but returned for her sons schooling. Missing the space, the light and the quiet she decided to sell her large London property, buy something smaller and look for a simple country house in the area she knew so well. Although it had been restored and enlarged by the previous owners she has modernised the bathrooms and the kitchen and made some other small changes while painting throughout. An important point of appeal too was the "studio" a 2 story building set above the house where she could paint and carry out her Reiki and energy healing as well as offering get well getaways in this tremendously calming and quiet place. The house is furnished with things from the old French house and the London apartment but she has pared down her possessions citing the need for simplicity as a key motive. It is essentially an extended holiday home, one that reminds her of her African childhood, a safe haven down a dirt track with just an ancient village visible in the distant hills.
