Kinshasa, Congo - Every year, on February 10th, sapeurs visit the grave of their spiritual father, the musician Adrien Mombele Samba N???gantshie, aka Stervos Niarcos, in Gombe cemetery. These often unemployed youngsters create a flamboyant identity for themselves, with their elegant suits. It is their way of affirming their own personality. Some of the sapeurs lug along suitcases full of clothes, in case they want to change outfits.
