CHURCHILL'S FALSE TEETH UP FOR SALE
A set of false teeth that belonged to British wartime Prime Minister Winston Churchill are to be auctioned off.
The gold-mounted partial dentures are one of three sets made for the PM and are teeth he wore when making some of his most famous speeches.
Churchill apparently had several sets made after breaking some in a fit of temper and being left unable to talk.
One set was buried with Churchill when he died in 1965.
Another was donated to the Royal College of Surgeons' museum where they were labeled as: "The teeth that saved the world."
The third and final set was given back to Derek Cudlipp, the dental technician who made them.
It is this set that will shortly be going under the hammer and they are expected to raise around GBP 5,000.
The teeth will be sold at Keys auctioneers in Aylsham, Norfolk on 29 July.
Keys' valuer Andrew Bullock said: "It is so quirky - one of those things which is so unusual that it could make a huge amount of money."
