A romantic kingfisher wins the heart of a female by gazing into her eyes after catching a small fish. Photographer Jeroen Stel spotted the loved-up pair on the branch of a Hawthorn tree in Naarden, The Netherlands. Male Kingfishers offer fish to females in order to attract them to their nesting site and persuade them to mate. Wildlife photographer Jeroen, 42 and from Harmelen in The Netherlands, said: "As this is springtime, the kingfishers sometimes choose a lovely perch - in this case a flowering blossom of a Hawthorn tree."
