Eruption of a mud volcano in Dashgil near the Caspian coast, south of Baku. A natural gas bubble covered in mud breaks reaches the surface and willdesintegrate a second later. Mud volcanoes are a product of the same geological system responsible for Azerbaijan's rich oil and gas fields and van be used as clues by explorers seeking additional reserves.
