Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall on visit to Warsaw, Poland - 16 Mar 2010
While on a trip to Poland with Prince Charles, The Duchess of Cornwall was forced to alter her schedule today because of an "annoying" back problem. Camilla had been due to accompany Charles to eastern Poland to visit the Bialowieza National Park and a nearby mosque. However, doctors warned her that the two helicopter journeys and car ride needed to get her to her engagements would further worsen her back problem. As such she remained in Warsaw while Charles continued with their original schedule without her. Instead, Camilla spent the day meeting staff from the British embassy and touring a museum dedicated to Polish composer Chopin. During the day Camilla, who has a history of back problems, joked to reporters: "I've got this trapped nerve I just can't shift, it's very annoying. Bumping around in the car would not have been a good idea." Last week she was forced to cancel a trip to the Birmingham Royal Ballet due to the same ailment.
