Turkish police officers secure a basketball stadium, where Syrian Kurdish people were kept after they were detained, in Suruc, at the Turkey-Syria border, Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2014. According to Mustafa Ban, one of the detainees, more than 100 men, women and children are being detained since crossing from Kobani, Syria into Turkey last week. Dozens of the detainees have been on a hunger strike since Oct. 6, and the reason is that because Turkish authorities are refusing to free them from the stadium. Kobani, also known as Ayn Arab, and its surrounding areas, has been under assault by extremists of the Islamic State group since mid-September and is being defended by Kurdish fighters. The onslaught has forced more than 200,000 people to flee across the border into Turkey.(AP Photo/Lefteris Pitarakis), APTOPIX
