Bone inlaid octagonal occasional table by small buttoned chair VEERE GRENNEY - The Temple - a miniature classical former fishing lodge and estate folly in the English countryside At the height of the 18C English love affair with Palladian architecture this charming little Temple of the Four Seasons was built in the grounds of a grand house in Suffolk. It is all that remains of a much greater estate, which was swept away in the 1950's. At the time follies, sometimes whimsical, sometimes perfect, tiny copies of real buildings, fake classical ruins or mediaeval towers were rising from fields up and down the country, the charming and often eccentric whims of fashion conscious landowners.
