The Leo Triplet of Galaxies includes M65 & M66 & NGC3628. They all lie around 35 million light years from Earth in the constellation Leo. M66 is a face-on barred spiral galaxy. Barred spirals have their arms radiating from an elongated bar-like nucleus rather than the more common spherical one. This photographe was taken on on 5/13/2007 with an Areo 3 at RAS Observatory, New Mexico. 20 minute exposure LRGB with a 6' refractor and STL11000 CCD.
