Members of the mounted brass band of Portugal's National Guard gather to take part in the ceremony of Changing the Guard, at the National Guard Cavalry Regiment headquarters in Lisbon, on August 18, 2013. The cavalry of Portugal's National Guard has a unique mounted brass band which was created in 1942. It features various instruments including cavalry trumpets, flugelhorn and kettledrum. The cavalry, which consists of 130 white or piebald horses and 27 riders, take part in various official ceremonies and touristic events, including the Change of Guards at Belem's National Palace.
