HMS Belfast is a large light cruiser of the Town-class which saw action in the Second World War and the Far East 1946-1950 and is now a museum ship moored on the River Thames just in front of Tower Bridge. HMS Belfast was launched on March 17, 1938 and was decommissioned in 1965 becoming part of the Imperial War Museum in 1978. The ship celerbates this year in 2013 its 75th anniversary.
