Tino Zervudachi is a partner in the London/Paris based interior design company Mlinaric, Henry and Zervudachi. He works on a wide range of projects internationally but has a special affinity for mountain chalets that are lived in year round. In 2010 he completed the award-winning Aurelio Hotel in Austria plus several chalets in Switzerland. His own chalet apartment was bought at the early stages of construction which meant he could customise the space to suit himself keeping the living areas open-plan and requiring only 1 bedroom and bathroom plus a study. There is plenty of nicely grained wood but white walls too and skylights mean that natural light fills the chalet during the day from sunrise to sunset. The interiors are furnished with interesting personal things including a mix of contemporary and older furniture, a sculptural console table by his sister Manuela and carefully selected textiles which add colour and pattern against white curtains and upholstery and pale carpet in the living area. The craftsmanship is first rate and attention to detail is everything.
