EXCLUSIVE FILE PHOTO: Samantha Geimer, the woman who was sexually assaulted by director Roman Polanski at age 13 is due to write a book about the scandal entitled 'The Girl: Emerging from the Shadow of Roman Polanski'. Samantha Geimer, now 47, has a deal with Atria Books for releasing her memoir. Atria, a Simon & Schuster imprint, announced Tuesday that the book will come out next fall. According to Atria, Geimer will provide 'insight into many dimensions of the story that have never previously been revealed.' Polanski was nitially indicted on six felony counts, including rape by use of drugs, child molesting and sodomy, but pleaded guilty to one count of unlawful sexual intercourse. In exchange, a Los Angeles judge agreed to drop the remaining charges and sentence him to prison for a 90-day psychiatric evaluation. Polanksi, who fled to Europe in 1978 after he was convicted of raping Geimer at the age of 13, was arrested on arrival in Switzerland Sunday and held for extradition to the States. The Los Angeles County ditrict attorney's office said prosecutors drew up a warrant last week after learning Polanski would be at the Zurich Film Festival, where he would not be protected from arrest.
