Polish President Bronislaw Komorowski and his wife Anna cast their ballots in one of the polling stations of Warsaw during the parliamentary elections on October 9, 2011. Voting began in Poland's general election Sunday at 7:00 am (0500 GMT), with centrist Prime Minister Donald Tusk vying for a landmark second term in a race against the conservative opposition. Final opinion polls gave Tusk's Civic Platform (PO) 35.5 percent support ahead of 29.1 percent for the Law and Justice (PiS) conservatives led by ex-prime minister Jaroslaw Kaczynski, suggesting a PO victory but no solid majority.
