Holocaust survivor Lea Zajac de Novera, 98, shows a picture of her family as she speaks during an interview with AFP in Buenos Aires on January 2, 2025. Zajac de Novera was born in Michalowo, a town in the province of Bialystok, Poland, on December 31, 1926. At the beginning of the war, she lived with her family under Soviet occupation until 1942, when she and her family were relocated to the Pruzhany ghetto.
