A perfect robin framed in holly, IPSWICH, ENGLAND, A PICTURE PERFECT image of a robin red-breast framed by holly has been captured.
Images show the beautifully posed robin perched on a holly branch with its red berries providing a pop of colour. Other images show a great tit, blue tit and starling all getting in on the action by posing for the photographer
These images were captured by director Phil Orris (37) from Ipswich, England.
Phil captured the festive birds in Ipswich, England on his Canon R7 & RF100-500L.
“I was elated, whenever I set a scene such as this I am never sure if the birds will use it as intended, but thankfully on this occasion they did,” said Phil.
“I think the Robin shots are my favourites, they are just the quintessential Christmas image.
“I have fed the birds in my garden for years.
“Feeling in the Christmas spirit I thought I would put a few holly sprigs around the food in hope to get some festive shots.
“Needless to say the birds did not disappoint and within an hour I had multiple shots of varying bird species making a nice festive collection of images.
“Garden birds will make use of any cover or branches near to a food supply.
“They use them to survey the area to ensure it is safe to feed.
“This is where using natural material to create a photographic perch is a good option to get nice natural images.”
