VIDEO: Tube train delayed due to giant CHILLI PEPPER on line
A Tube train was delayed due to a giant CHILLI PEPPER on the line
The giant, 6ft tall soft toy was won as a prize at Hyde Park Winter Wonderland.
But a festive reveller had a mishap and their chilli ended up on track at nearby Marble Arch Underground station.
The Tube train had to wait in the tunnel for it to be removed.
Some passengers waiting to get on saw the funny side of it after it spiced up their journey home.
Others blasted the foolish chilli prize winner - who got it after entering a Ł10 game at the Christmas event - for not taking better care of it.
The big, green cartoon-style hot peppers have red ear muffs and woolly hats.
It happened last Thursday (12 Dec) evening, as reported by What's The Jam.
One filmed it on her mobile phone and said: “When there is a chilli on the track.
“And it halted the London Underground.
“The Underground is halted.”
She added: “It is stuck.
“The train is there.
“Oh my God.”
Local Michael Gerrish joked: “There aren't any leaves on the line to blame the disruption on.
“So they've got a big chilli instead.”
Harry Myers quipped: “Did somebody call the hotline?”
But David Otchere fumed: “Whoever did that is hugely irresponsible.”
Another added: “That’s just f*cking idiotic whoever did it.”
Simon Nightingale said: “Christmas drinkers...roll on January.”
Transport for London has been approached for comment.
