Pic from Danielle Carstens/ Magnus News. Pic shows a cheet-AIR cub caught on camera in this hilarious pose with a sibling in an image taken by wildlife photographer Danielle Carstens at the Madikwe Game Reserve in South Africa in October. CHEET-AIR! PHOTO SEEMS TO SHOW PLAYFUL CUB LIFTING A SIBLING UP WITH ONE PAW This is the adorable moment a playful cheetah cub appeared to lift its sibling one-pawed into the air. The mind-boggling photo was captured by wildlife photographer Danielle Carstens at the Madikwe Game Reserve in South Africa. As this photo shows, one cub is attempting to leap past another which is standing on its hind legs. A perfect frame shows the leaping cub and paw connecting in mid-air making it seem like one cheetah cub is holding the other like a waiter holder a silver platter. Danielle, 36, took this snap of the cubs at play last month in her native South Africa. She said she had been watching five young cheetah cubs who had joined their mother who had a fresh impala kill. “They'd finished feeding for a while and started getting playful,” she said. “They were learning to stalk each other and climb on top of the termite mound. “These two were particularly playful and I managed to catch them mid-air.” Danielle used a Canon R6 Mark II with a 100-500mm lens to take these photos and was about 40 metre away from the cheetah family. She added: “Cheetahs have various enemies in the bush; hyenas, lions, leopards, African wild dogs and of course humans. “Yet they still manage to survive out in the wild. They're also the only one of the large cat species in Africa that can purr. “There are fewer than 7,000 cheetahs left in the wild. They face a number of threats, including losing their prey to their enemies, loss of habitat to human activity, human-animal conflict and illegal animal trade.” ENDS //MAGNUSNEWSAGENCY_SIPA.67669/Credit:Carstens/ Magnus News/SIPA/2411271610
