Otter pups with Greta
HAMERTON THE MOST ADORABLE little otters at just a few weeks old, have been snapped exploring their surroundings.
Images show the family of otters keeping busy while exploring the terrain at Hamerton Zoo Park, near Sawtry, in Cambridgeshire.
Hamerton’s Asian short-clawed otter pair, Clyde and Greta, had their very first litter of pups just a few weeks ago and last week the pups were finally allowed by mum and dad to leave the holt to explore.
An otter holt is a resting and sleeping place for otters, usually a hole in the ground that's lined with twigs, reeds, or grass.
These heart-warming images were snapped by Helen Black (63) a passionate photographer from Peterborough.
“The pups are so adorable that it put a huge smile on my face,” she told mediadrumworld.com.
“The light on the day was the usual UK grey gloomy weather we are experiencing this November so that presented a challenge while clicking the pictures.
“It made capturing these lovely images even more precious.
“It's always nice to get some action shots and getting the pups running towards me mid-run was lovely.”
