Shalom looks like a gentle giant rolling over on his back to show his belly, GG CONSERVATION, SOUTH AFRICA, HILARIOUS IMAGES of a laid back lion basking in the sun have been captured. Images show lion Shalom with lioness Ariel approaching each other before exploding into a tussle. This effort seems to take it out of Shalom as the coy looking lion then stretches out in a perfect pose for his portrait. Another picture shows him relaxing as the sun back-lights his luscious mane. These pictures were taken by wildlife photographer Simon Needham (57) at the GG Conservation, South Africa on his Canon R5 who was interviewed by mediadrumworld.com. “I sat fairly close to King Shalom as the sun started to drop at GG Conservation for a few hours, it was only until later in the day that he started to move around and finally captured these images,” said Simon. “I love spending time with these magnificent animals. It's always a great day when I can spend time with lions and even better if I can capture a great pic or two!! “GG Conservation comprises of a registered non profit lion sanctuary who give a lifelong home to lions who, for various reasons, cannot live in the wild. “I think my favourite is him rolling around, he just looks so loveable! “Shalom is 12 years old with a relatively gentle character, he's a 'white lion' and he can't live in the wild so now he's protected at the GG Conservation lion sanctuary. “The female is called Ariel and she's also 12 years old, their relationship is described as 'it's complicated!' “Spending time with Lions is both exciting and calming. It provides a grounding experience that connects you with nature. “Being close to them you can just feel their power!” ENDS
