A traditional Malaysia wooden spinning top seen tested by Wak Aziz after it's had been finished the manufacturing process at Klang, Selangor. Gasing Pangkah is one of the Malay traditional sports heritage and it's a competitive game of spinning top competition by two groups to strike each other's top to win. Aziz Shamsudin, 63, known as Wak Aziz, is a traditional spinning top maker in Selangor. He has been making the traditional spinning top since his 30s until today and nowadays Wak Aziz has been passing the craft skill to Mohd Zaimi also known as Jimmie, 49, who is one of Wak Aziz's protégé to continue the heritage. Not so many people were interested in making traditional spinning tops because of the complicated and hard process. From finding a suitable wooden log until it's done to perfect the piece shape of the spinning top. Both of them just have one mission which is to keep the traditional heritage alive.
