Kenya suffered a sever drought from 2020 to 2023 and Amboseli National Park was the most affected. All the streams, watering holes and lakes dried out and the only source of water and food that was left is the swamp inside the park. So everyday, herds of elephants would walk across the dry lake bed to get to the swamp. They would come into the swamp to cool down, drink water and eat the marshy grass. Every evening, they would walk back to the forest areas where they would spend the night and eat leaves from trees. AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK, KENYA, AFRICA, INCREDIBLE image of a majestic elephant saluting Mount Kilimanjaro has been captured. The striking image shows the elephant with his head tilting back and tusks raised as if giving a salute and appearing to dwarf the epic mountain behind it. Other images show elephants at Amboseli National Park, Kenya enjoying care-free days against the imposing backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro.   Two elephants are pictured cooling off by the water with a rainbow and a storm brewing behind.  Super-Tusker Craig, Africa's most popular elephants, can been seen in front of the imposing mountain. Also featured is a young bull named Conor shaking his head to warn photographers that he wasn’t very happy having them around. These elephants were captured by photographer Nili Mahendra Gudhka (32) from Nairobi Kenya, who was interviewed by mediadrumworld.com. Nili captured these priceless moments in Amboseli National Park on her Nikon camera equipment. “Craig rarely comes inside the park and he’s rarely on musth,” said Nili. “My favourite animal to take photos of are elephants and there is no better feeling than watching these magnificent giants in their natural environment. “It’s not just about taking photos, but also learning about their behaviour the more time I spend with them. “As much as you’d think elephants are gentle and slow, most of these moments were captured in seconds. “It happens so quickly that if you don’t react fast, you will miss the shot for sure. “I love photographing elephants and the main reason is because just like us humans, elephants are equally emotional and intelligent. “Just watching them out in their element is so fulfilling.” ENDS
