Story from Jam Press (Stranded Cat Rescued) Pictured: Firefighters climbing the 9-metre ladder to rescue the stranded cat from the roof. Cat stranded on roof for three days rescued by fire service A cat has been rescued and brought back to safety after being stranded on a roof. The feline was spotted by a concerned resident who claimed it had been stuck there for three days. They made a call to local firefighters, who whizzed to the rescue after receiving the report. On arrival, the crew set up a 9-metre ladder so they could bring the fluffy adventurer back down to earth. In images taken at the scene, at just past 9am on Tuesday, September 17, the white moggy looks to be peering over the edge of the roof as a firefighter climbs up. Another adorable shot shows the moment of rescue as a crew member climbs back down the steps holding the kitty close to her chest. On reaching the ground, she handed it to a colleague who appeared to wear a dazed look on its face the whole time. The rescue mission by the Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service’s Eastern Fire Station crew was located in the Hamilton area of Leicester. In a post shared on social media, the team revealed that countless incidents similar to this occur across the county, as reported by NeedToKnow. They wrote: “Blue Watch is on duty today.” “Animal rescues play a significant role in our work, with countless incidents occurring across the county. “We responded to a call about a cat stranded at the top of a roof! “Our crew set up a 9-metre ladder, to bring the cat safely down.” In 2023, the London Fire Brigade website reported that they were involved in 1,193 animal rescues. This was up from 775 in 2020 and included 707 cats. ENDS
