The newborn cub being transported to a new den by mum, MARA NORTH CONSERVANCY, KENYA, ADORABLE IMAGES of a leopard carrying her TEN-DAY old cub in her mouth have been captured. Images show the mother leopard and her cub as they make the treacherous journey to move to a new den. These incredible images were captured by Wildlife Photographer and Safari Planner Harman Singh Heer (22) from Perth Australia who spoke to mediadrumworld.com about the emotional encounter.  He had waited 12 years to witness such a special interaction. Harman captured these touching moments in Mara North Conservancy, Kenya on his Canon R5 with a 100-400mm F4.5-5.6. “This is not a typical sight at all. I have searched for a moment like this since the day I picked up my first camera in 2012, and it finally manifested this year in 2024,” said Harman.  “A little leopard cub, just a few days old, enters the world outside its mother's den for the first time. “Its eyes open ever so slightly to see the light, the trees, the birds, the open savannah.  “Too small to walk on its own, its mother carries it in her jaws safely to a new den hidden in the nearby rocks.  “This is life in its most fragile form and what a special thing it truly is. This is a leopardess called Ndoto with her first ever litter, her name means "Dream".  “I was almost in tears. To see life in such a fragile form made everyone in the car extremely emotional. There was unparalleled excitement and awe.  “My favourite shot is the first one where you can see the cubs face – its eyes barely open and its tongue sticking out.  “This cub is roughly 10-12 days old. “We had been searching for this leopardess for the previous two game drives but had no luck.  “We knew she had given birth and it was only a matter of time until she moved her litter to a new den.  “We just got lucky on the third drive as we saw her walking on the road with the little one in her mouth. Patience and perseverance always pays off. “Capturing moments like this makes fleeting moments eternal. This photograph will always remind me of the intense emotion I felt witnessing new life and a new mother in the wild.  “I believe it is also strong enough to evoke an emotion in every viewer, and I hope that it will draw more people to Africa and allow them to connect with nature in an increasingly urbanised world.” ENDS
