CHEEKY THING.... A goat looks like it is being greedy, and stuffing its cheeks full of food. The Alpine goat was seen with puffed out cheeks in the French city of Vienne. Photographer Romain Doucelin, 26, said, “I saw the goat eating its way through hay scattered about on the floor and was surprised to see the goat stuffing its mouth with hay, making it look like it was impersonating a chipmunk storing food in its mouth.” “I really liked the shots and thought it reminded me of a chipmunk storing food. I was told by the farm’s owner that the real reason for the goat having the bulge in its mouth was due to abscesses rather than it storing food.” Please byline: Romain Doucelin/Solent News © Romain Doucelin/Solent News & Photo Agency UK +44 (0) 2380 458800 *** Local Caption *** I took the images in France, on 2024/09/01 in the city of Vienne in Isère. The goat is of the Alpine breed, it is a farm animal. The animal was eating hay on the ground when I was surprised by the cheeks swollen like chipmunks. I thought the goat wanted to store hay in its mouth. The farmer who owns the goat explained to me that the animal actually suffers from two abscesses in the jaw. The disease can be transmitted to humans but this is extremely rare. My information: Romain Doucelin, 26 years old, press photographer.
