Pictures as you know them from the Ahr valley. The storms raged particularly hard in the Altvatergebirge at the weekend. In this area fell over 400 liters on the square meter. Too much for the most modern flood protection. Many villages are cut off from the outside world. Our cameraman is trying to get into Jesen'k. However, all access roads to this place have been cut off from the flood. In the municipality of Vapenna (Setzdorf) there were also dimensions that never existed before. In the village, streets, bridges and houses were torn away. Only the stairs to the basement are visible (on tape). There is a state of emergency in the village. Every house on the Vidnavka River has been severely damaged. There is no drinking water in the village, but gas did not return until Sunday. People are supplied with water bottles. A water tank is available for washing at the fire station. The newly built flood protection was completely destroyed. Huge damage was caused to the entire riverbed.
