WWII veterans Dorothea Barron (left), 99, and 100-year-old Queenie Hall, who is known as Robbie, ahead of taking a flight in a Spitfire, organised by the Taxi Charity for Military Veterans to mark their 100th birthdays this year, from the Biggin Hill Heritage Hangar in Westerham, Kent. Dorothea served with WRNS between 1942-45, teaching semaphore to the troops ahead of D-Day and helped to test the Mulberry Harbour. Robbie was one of the plotters serving with the Women's Royal Air Force (WRAF) based with Bomber Command at High Wycombe. Picture date: Thursday September 12, 2024.
