A laughing gibbon, BLACKPOOL ZOO, ENGLAND, JAWSOME images of animals displaying their incredible teeth have been captured. Images show a variety of creatures from a tiger flexing its fangs to an orangutan showing off its impressive molars. The king of the jungle also reminds photographers how he got the name with a jaw busting roar before a hippo unhinges its mighty chops and reveals its almost tusk like teeth. These powerful images were captured by photographer Gary Cox (53) from Manchester England who was interviewed by mediadrumworld.com. Gary travelled to different locations across the world to capture these images, including Blackpool Zoo, Flamingo Land, Seigfried & Roy’s Secret Garden and Oasis Wildlife park on his Canon 80D. “I always get a buzz when I manage to capture animals bearing their teeth, especially when it makes them look quite intimidating,” said Gary. “My favourite shot is probably the gorilla. He is Bukavu the silverback and even though it is just a yawn he looks quite terrifying. “I particularly love the ape photos because these shots are harder to capture. They don’t show off their teeth nearly as much as big cats. “Even small animals like otters show how formidable they could be when seeing their teeth. “Big cats showing their teeth can be a fairly common sight as they yawn quite a lot, although capturing them mid yawn can be tricky. “Apes and other animals are far more infrequent so a lot of patience and luck is involved. “I love seeing such primal images, reminding me why I’m glad there is a boundary between me and them. “Yes, it can be difficult to get the shot. It is both being in the right place at the right time with the right viewpoint. “On top of that you need the camera setting correct to capture the shot clearly. “It makes for such a dynamic image. We are in awe of nature at its most primal.”
