Smitten smiley sloth. This mother sloth looks like one proud mumma as she seems to smile for the camera with her baby precipitating the smile cuddled in to her. However, the three-toed sloth, possibly looked relieved having just defecated from the trees in Panama, an event which usually happens once per week. Sloths are incredibly fussy when it comes to personal hygiene and pooping while hanging upside down doesn't seem to make it any easier.
Professional photographer Mark Smith, 51, said, "The mother sloth was climbing down out of the tree with her baby for a bathroom break. Something that actually doesn’t happen that often."
"We were cruising on a small jungle river in search for exotic birds when my guide noticed the sloth high up in the trees. None of us knew she had a baby with her. I asked our guide to stop so we could watch her and believe it or not sloths are quick when they want to be. I’m glad we stopped because that’s when we saw the baby."

Are these a specific kind of sloth?
Not sure but I think this is a 3 toe sloth.
Can you describe what is happening in these images? Do you know if they live in the trees here or were in search of food etc?
The mother sloth was climbing down out of the tree with her baby for a bathroom break. Something that actually doesn’t happen that often.
