Kari Whitmore has been mistaken for the Harry Potter star since the first movie came out in 2001. Now 34 – just six months older than Emma – it’s still a regular occurrence in her day-to-day life. Kari, from Indianapolis, Indiana, US, has even built a following of more than 700,000 on TikTok, where she is inundated with comments about her resemblance to the actress. “I’ll get comments like, ‘You look like that girl from Harry Potter, what’s her name?’ or ‘Has anyone ever told you that you look like Emma Watson?’” Kari, who works as a crew scheduler for an airline company, told What's The Jam. “I’ve even received the comment, ‘Don’t you have movies to be making?’ while I was at a former job. “I can see how, at first glance, I can be mistaken for Emma – but I still see myself as myself. “I think we’re similar, but still uniquely different from each other.” The lookalike first learned of their shared resemblance after the first film in the franchise became popular when she was just 11 years old. She said: “When the first Harry Potter movie came out, I hadn’t seen it yet. “It wasn’t until I was stopped at a post office by a couple of young girls pointing at me and calling me ‘Hermione’. “I didn’t know what they were talking about, so I went home and looked it up – that’s when I learned that Hermione was a character in Harry Potter, played by Emma. “As someone who would always get lost in a book, I started reading the Harry Potter series, once I learned who Hermione was. “It’s funny because I could relate to her in so many ways. “On my elementar
