Daniel with one of his books SAO PAULO, BRAZIL, FORMER SATANIST Daniel Mastral was found dead in his back garden on August 4th 2024 with injuries to the head according to police after neighbours reported a loud "bang sound."
Writer and lecturer, Daniel Mastral (57) of Sao Paulo, Brazil developed a unique work as a congressman, being known throughout Brazil for his lectures on spirituality, occult themes, theology and history, among other topics applied to faith and motivation.
He published his first book in 2000, entitled Son of Fire – the unveiling of high magic, which won over the general public. Winner of the Areté Prize for the work Voice of What Cries in the Desert, he has written 14 titles in total.
He had an editorial contract with the publishers Novo Século, Ńgape, PÃłrtico and Academia.Daniel was married to Isabela Mastral from 1999 to 2021 when she passed away. Isabela was a doctor, graduated from the University of Medicine – USP.
Her training greatly facilitated the development of the book “Alerta Geral”.
Together with Daniel, she was the author of an extensive literary repertoire, including many didactic and reflective titles.
The set of works also includes several novels, some of which are national best-sellers.
Daniel and Isabela shared a son Mikael who sadly passed away aged 15 in 2018.
As of 2022 he married Dai Uechi and they shared a young son together. Police have not yet announced the exact cause of death.
“At 57 years old, writer Daniel Mastral was found dead in the backyard of his house in Barueri, in the metropolitan region of São Paulo, on Sunday night (4/8),” state local reports.
“According to the Civil Police, he had a head injury.
“Daniel Mastral, whose real name was Marcelo Agostinho Ferreira, gained notoriety with the book Filho do Fogo , released in 2000. In three volumes, the writer narrates his experiences from the time he was a follower of Satanism.
“A frequent figure on podcasts, Mastral introduced himself as a theologian and former Satanist converted to Christianity. In an interview in February of this year, Daniel said he decided to abandon Satanism after being instructed to perform a human sacrifice.
“In total, Mastral wrote 14 books. According to the writer's website, he gave lectures on "spirituality, occult themes, theology and history, among other topics applied to faith and motivation."
“In 2018, Daniel lost his son Mikael Mastral, aged 15. Three years later, he also lost his wife, Isabela Mastral, victim of cardiac arrest due to an acute myocardial infarction.
“The cause of death is still under investigation. Police said residents in the area heard a "bang" before finding the body.”
His death appears to be of an unexpected nature as Daniel posted on X, formerly Twitter, on August 1st 2024 announcing he had just set up his TikTok page to fans.
