Caleb Weiss (L), an employee of the American organization The Bridgeway Foundation, and Colonel Udju from the FARDC (Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of Congo), broadcast messages through loudspeakers from a helicopter over the strongholds of the ADF (Allied Democratic Forces, an armed group originally from Uganda that pledged allegiance to ISIS in 2019 and operates in eastern DRC) urging them to surrender, on May 8, 2024, over Beni territory, North Kivu province, eastern Democratic Republic of Congo. US-based Bridgeway Foundation, which describes itself as the charitable arm of a Texan investment firm and says it focuses on "preventing, ending and helping communities recover from violence".
