Jump-starting the fun! A pair of red foxes are observed play fighting and jumping on one another early in the morning. The playful cubs couldn’t contain their excitement and chose to kick-start the day with some active fun in a mountain range located near San Francisco, California, USA. Jiahong Zeng said, “There are multiple litters of red foxes in the area, and they can be seen play-fighting fairly often." “In the early morning, I took a trip to that mountain range hoping to capture some photos of the foxes in action. I waited patiently, aiming to capture every jump and every playful fight.” “Luckily that morning they were very active. They jumped and played fighting several times. Andy Zeng - These Red Fox are often seen in California mountains. They are common in Sierra Nevada. Can you describe what is happening in these images? Were they simply play fighting or was this a more serious altercation? i.e were they competing for food? Andy Zeng - There are several litters of Red Fox in that mountain and they are often seen to play fighting. In the early morning of Sunday March 31 I brought my 600 lens with 1.4 extension converter to that mountain in hoping to take some Red Fox playing images Can you give us an insight into the moments leading up to this as well as directly after? They also approached to people in hoping that people would give them some food. I left when Sun was up and the lights were too strong How were you able to capture these images?
