Supporters of Palestine Action use lock-ons to block the entrance to County Hall and spray red paint on the exterior of the building. The protesters demand that Somerset Council terminate the lease on office space they let to Elbit Systems in Aztec West, Bristol. They argue that weapons made by Elbit Systems in the UK are being used by the Israel Defence Force against Palestinians in Gaza and elsewhere. Israeli bombing in Gaza has killed over 30,000 Palestinians since October 2023. Palestine Action are determined to relentlessly target Elbit and their partner companies by direct action and make business for them in the UK impossible- only last week Elbitís Tamworth factory site announced a change of ownership this is the third business to close out of their ten UK operations.
