A man collects mussels at Magoito beach, Sintra on March 29, 2024. Some people collect eggs or chocolate rabbits, but here in Magoito, a small seaside town located 45 km north of Lisbon, people collect mussels. It is an old tradition which is practiced on Good Friday during Easter week. The ancients explain it by the ban on eating meat on this day and the fact that it is the time of year when low tides are the most important. (Photo by PATRICIA DE MELO MOREIRA / AFP)
