Bentley's Heritage Collection and The Little Car Company’s Bentley Blower Jnr. car - an 85 per cent scale recreation of the legendary Team Car No. 2 1929 4½-litre Supercharged Bentley - has undergone some special Christmas testing.
Built around a 48V electric powertrain boasting a 15 kW (20 bhp) motor, the Bentley Blower Jnr offers a top speed of 45 mph / 72 km/h in the UK and EU (25 mph / 40 km/h in the USA due to legislation) and an anticipated range of around 65 miles, with seating for two adults.
To test its durability, the Bentley Blower Jnr, is set to cover over 5,000 miles across three continents, with its first undertaking delivering a Christmas tree in Switzerland.
Crafted entirely by hand with over 700 parts, the Bentley Blower Jnr stays true to the original with authentic materials and attention to detail. The bodywork, constructed in two sections, incorporates carbon fibre for the rear body structure, covered in impregnated fabric reminiscent of the original design. The aluminium bonnet, adorned with cooling louvres and leather buckled bonnet straps, is a testament to traditional craftsmanship.
The vehicle's authentic specification chassis features leaf springs, scaled-down friction dampers, Brembo brakes at the front, and drums at the rear, providing a faithful nod to the 1930s period car. Overcoming modern challenges, such as lighting, occupant restraints, and the reduction of non-compliant edges, the Bentley Blower Jnr embodies the spirit of the original while meeting contemporary standards.
It also turns out, that with its open top design, it’s ideal for delivering Christmas trees - as it made the festive celebration with its cargo intact and all ready to be decorated.
