The picture dated September 25 shows the Aurora over Mary's Shell in Cleveleys, Lancashire.The Aurora Borealis form when charged particles from the sun penetrate the earth's magnetic field and collide with atoms and molecules to create bursts of light.It is most commonly spotted in Norway and Sweden but recently solar activity has been increasing with the light shows occasionally visible in the skies above the UK.
